The cause of PKD patients with high blood pressure
1.When kidney function is impaired becasue of PKD, fluid retention and
sodium retention occurs. Excessive sodium and fluid pile up in blood vessels and
thus elevates blood pressure. Besides, when fluid inside the blood vessels ooze
out and stay in the space of tissues, swelling symptom occur.
2. Angiotensin II can cause shrinkage of blood vessels. For PKD patients, too much renin will be produced in their body, which can cause increase of angiotensin II. High levels of angiotensin II shrink blood vessles and thus cause high blood pressure.
The cause of PKD patients with blood in urine(hematuresis)
1. Rupture on the cysts. This is due to the continuous enlarged cysts which will stretch the renal capsule and oppress surrounding renal tissues.
2. Kidney stone. There are about 20% ADPKD patients will have the complication of kidney stones and when the stones move in the urethra, it might cut the blood vessels and cause blood in urine.
3. Infections. Urinary tract infections and cystic infections are the common complications of PKD and they can cause cystic bleeding and blood in urine if not treated properly or timely.
PKD Treatments
PKD can run to kidney failure directly and if PKD patients want to avoid dialysis, shrinking kidney cysts and improving kidney function should be the right target. Our Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy can be one of efficient therapy to treat PKD. Because this therapy can make the Chinese herbs into much small than original.
