PKD with Urinary tract infections (UTI) and High Creatinine Level Treatment

Polycystic kidney disease is one of genetic kidney disease. So it is hard to treatment compared with the other kind of kidney disease. But If the patients choose the right therapy the complication like UTI, high blood pressure, blood in urine can be relieved. So the PKD patients can live a life like a normal people.Today I want to tell you the way how to lower high creatinine level and relieve UTI for PKD patients.

The cause of UTI in PKD patients

Results. Urinary tract infections were observed in 60% of our patients (108 patients), and were more frequent in women than in men. The infections were typically caused by gram negative enteric organisms. Blood culture was positive in 10%, while urine culture was negative in 40%. The episodes of isolated cyst infections (negative urine culture and absence of white blood cell casts in urinary sediment) were more frequent than those of acute or chronic pyelonephritis (urinary sediment was positive for white blood cell casts). Conclusion. We conclude that urinary tract infections are frequent in our patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease. Distinguishing between cyst infection and acute or chronic pyelonephritis is often a challenge, and the diagnosis relies mainly on clinical and bacteriological findings.

How to relieve UTI for PKD patients?

You are supposed to take in at least 250ml of water every hour during the day. This helps increase the amount of urine you pass. Each time you urinate, your bladder is cleansed. Taking a lot of water each day will also help in flushing out the harmful bacteria.

It is also imperative to urinate whenever you feel the urge. When you hold in urine, you run a risk of worsening this infection. This is because the urine you hold in offers a good atmosphere for bacteria growth.

Avoid irritants

While trying to treat UTI, you need to cut down on your intake of聽alcohol, caffeine, hot spices as well as citrus. These substances are known to irritate the bladder. Alcohol and caffeine are especially prohibited because they lead to dehydration.

Even if you are not infected with the UTI bacteria, you can prevent the infection by minimizing your intake of alcohol and caffeine.
Have pineapple and blueberries

Pineapples have anti-inflammatory properties while blueberries have bacteria inhibiting properties. These properties will speed up the healing process. You can include these fruits in your daily meals.
